That's because your Dad's original phone was deactivated when the line was upgraded to the new V3m. You Dad simply had to "reactivate" his old phone on his line, then activate teh new V3m on your Mom's line.
The question that has not yet been asked is, does Val's daughter already have a line of service with Verizon? If so, then it is very easy to do online, basically the same operation detailed above. However, if there is no existing line, then we are talking about flipping 2 activated phones. After reading Val's post again, it sounds like the daughter would be getting a brand new line of service. All Val has to do is upgrade the existing line, add a new line for her daughter, then call customer service to flip the 2 activated phones.
