I know, I am referring to those codes as well. There is no such thing as *288. It is simply a typo in the original posting. I will let John know he should edit those codes.

    Re: Helpful Verizon Codes

I'm sure this has been mentioned but to skip anyones voicemail message on a Verizon phone and go straight to the "beep" so that you can leave your message, just push "3" when you first hear their voicemail.

It is 3 for most carriers and for one other that I cant remember off the top of my head it is the pound sign (#).

I'm referring to when you call a Verizon number, and THEIR voicemail comes on. You can press 1 to skip to the beep and leave a voicemail.

A different question: Is there a code which will identify the Tower my phone is in contact with?
    Thanks.

No. Not that you would ever need to know that type of information... unless you happen to work for Verizon's network team.

    Re: Helpful Verizon Codes

Hi John, or anyone who may know,

The software update codes - how does that work? Can I just update using that code at anytime? Do you know if data rates apply (as I dont have a data plan)? Is there a place to find out if there is new software available, or should I just randomly try and update once a month or so?

    Thanks,
    Dan
