reception problem???


Lately my Verizon phone has been acting up. i would have posted this in a phone company forum, but it seems the only brand name i can find on the phone is verizon.

anyways, often when i attempt to make a call or send a text message with plent of service [2 or 3 bars] the call will not connect or i will get a SMS fail message when sending a text. my brother has the same phone with the same service and he can stand right next to me and make a call or send a text. This doesn't always happen though, only in certain areas one of which being my home .

any ideas on why my phone is doing this and how it could be fixed?

*228 (send) option 2. You should be doing this once a month.

thanks for the suggestion, but it still seems to be doing it. unfortunately i think the answer is a new phone.

If the phone is still under manufacturer's warranty (less than a year old) take it straight back to the Verizon store you bought it from and get it replaced.

If it is older than that, you may have to consider some other options, the Verizon reps can go over those options with you.

In addition to the service update, you should also power off the phone then remove the battery leave off for a few seconds to allow the phone for lack of better works to "re-boot"

Also have you played with any of the system settings in the phone recently?
