Lost Verizon LG phone

Well I never thought it would happen to me but last night I went out drinking and lost my cell phone to davy jones locker. Funny thing is I was testing out a new side pouch which came loose without me realizing it. Anyway I was wondering what hoops do I need to jump through to get a new phone from verizon and would I be better off just buying a phone of the net to be activated by verizon?

If you have the insurance plan, you can have the phone replaced for a $50.00 deductible. If not, you are looking at full retail price for any phones (unless you are eligible for an upgrade).

can't i buy a verizon compatible phone and have it activated? buying a phone full price through verizon would be a big rip off.

The only Verizon compatible phones are Verizon phones. You can not activate any other provider's equipment on Verizon's network. To save money you could look on eBay for better deals, but beware of getting ripped off even worse.

well low and behold my sister has her old verizon phone so it looks like I will be spared this time. thanks for the advise.
