does anybody know if this has a fee or just airtime usage?

$9.99 for unlimited use for a month or $2.99 for unlimited use for 24 hours. The only airtime you will use is about a minute each time the device has to download a map or get new diriving directions (typically once per destination, unless you miss a turn and the map needs to be recalculated). Airtime will not be charged if you have the V-Cast Vpak ($15.00 per month) on your line.

so many options now adays I can't keep them straight.

I remember when txt messaging was a new thing and you didn't even have the option to get 100 a month cause that was a hell of a lot of txting. haha
