New here HELP (have a unique problem)

Hi all. Thanx for reading this.

I just got my ad in the Yellow Pages.
There was a problem though.
They put my home # as the main phone # and my cell # in real small letters.
I am moving in 2 weeks and I can't take my home # with me.

Is there a way for Verzion cell phone co. to make my cell phone use my old home#?

(My area codes aren't changing with the move...only moving about 15 miles)

Also...is there a way for my cell phone to be able to receive calls from both phone#'s?

You should be able to port your home number to your cell phone (this will replace the current cell phone number, you can't have both on one phone). You may want to think about adding a line to your Verizon account so that you can keep both numbers.

It surprises me that the phone company won't let you take your home number with you.

Really? Then you don't know Verizon very well. They SUCK! Earlier this year they automatically withdrew money outta my bank account to pay my DSL bill. I had never signed up for them to do that! And I had been using their DSL for years! Worse, they took the money right before payday and I bounced 4 checks.
$35 for each bounced check=140 bucks.
I called them to complain and ask why they did this and they lady was real rude and told me that they are just gonna shut my DSL off then!!! Trust me, I was not being rude at all to this lady! I just kept asking her NICELY who gave them the authority to take my money without my permission??!! And about 4 hours later they shut my DSL off!...and they just got paid for another month of service by taking my money!!
(2 months later I got a refund)

I'm with Earthlink for DSL now and ain't ever going back to Verizon.

back on topic:
If they would just let me take my old number to my new home I would be fine...but for some reason they said I can't. It's only about 15 miles away...same area code!!

I might have to get a new cell phone and use my old home number for it.
i.e. Have 2 cell phones.
It's the only solution I can come up with.
i've been waiting patiently for a year for this yellow page ad too!!

Thanx for your help!!

sounds like a number forward to me. Can't they also have the 'operator' say the new number? I've heard this before.
