I was able to get a video on my phone via e-mail.
I resized the video to 176x184 which is what I found the suggested wallpaper size was. I did the resize using AviSynth and VirtualDub and then saved it as an avi file. From there I used 3GP Converter 0.34 from
free-codecs to convert the avi to a 3gp file.
The problem I'm having now is that the video still isn't taking up the full screen even when I go into full screen mode. I'm guessing that the 176x184 took into account the menus and such that appear on the main screen but aren't there during fullscreen video playback.
The videos that I capture with the phone itself play back in full screen but appear to be stretched.
It would be great if someone that has a cable for their phone or a bluetooth connection could take a video with their 8300 and save it on their computer and e-mail it to me. Then I can figure out what the exact resolution is that the self-captured video is on the phone. I'd e-mail it to myself but thats not in my plan and also I'm afraid that it will go through a conversion process if I e-mail it from the phone. So if anyone out there is using BitPim with a cable or bluetooth, please e-mail me a little clip to eric.fredReMoVeThiSerich@g m a i l.com (remove the ReMoVeThiS from the name and the spaces).
The next step will be to figure out what the native resolution is for fullscreen playback which will probably have to be trial and error. Maybe it is time for me to order a cable or a bluetooth dongle.
Can anyone recommend a bluetooth dongle that will allow me to use BitPim? I heard they can be had for $10 on ebay.
