Is it possible to...

Sell my phone and service by making a transaction with another person for the phone and then let them take over the service with the phone too in their name so they own the account and not me? Is this free to do? Is it even possible?

Reason being, I want to go to a different provider, and I don't want to pay the cancellation fee... but if I can find someone who is willing to take over the account so to speak, is this at all something that can happen?

Get back to me,
thanks.

As long as that 2nd party completes the credit check and is willing to pay any required security deposit, the account can be transferred into their name.

My question is: Can you keep the phone number?

no...you can't keep the number....the number is attached and/or is part of the contract.

Correct, the "new customer" will be taking over the number. If the number was to be ported out, the contract would be cancelled.
