Switching to T-mobile for Sidekick without early termination? I have an idea.

I want to transfer my number to T-mobile from Verizon and keep the number. Its because I want a Sidekick for MS graduation. The thing is my dad doesn't want to have to pay the early de-activation fee since our plan isn't up until like next October. If I have to I could give my number to my brother and get a brand new number on T-mobile. I would rather not this way he doesn't get my calls, but is there a way to get around this since my brother would get my line right away. He is going to get a line on Verizon, same phone and everything just a different number. Are they going to make us pay money because of that? Thanks alot for the help!

You will have to get a new number if you don't want to pay the ETF. The mobile number is permanently attached to the line of service and not transferable without cancelling said line of service.

but will t-mobile change to the line when the verizon contract is up? I don't think they would. Isn't the contract tied to the line?
