Re: Cant upload ringtones to my KRZR anymore...

No the only option is save sound, and with the mp3"s i did with ring factory the sounds got saved in the my ringtone file. but the qcp files and apparently the midi files end up in the my sounds. On the bright side Ringfactory never worked well with my wifes razr but the midi files that tone this sends work great on her phone because the razr only has one sounds folder and you can set them as ringtones. I has a razr v3m but went through 4 of them with various problems, so verizon gave me the krzr instead, which has worked great once i was able to connect to the computer. have a 1 gig card and 240 songs loaded. and ringtones were easy with ringfactory because it uploaded to your phone for you. i actually emailed verizon and they credited me for the 8 pix text messages i sent that come to the phone as qcp. then they wrote a whole bunch a crap about using get it now to get ringtones. It just sucks because it worked so well before verizon screwed us

I replaced my KRZR recently and ran into the same issue. Found this link and was able to re-load my personal ringtones with little effort. Just follow all directions: aznuwee - How to use MP3 Ringtones on Your MOTOKRZR K1m

working for me (as of yesterday). don't have save as ringtone option so just save as sound. go to my ringtones and they are there. sound quality unaffected. 64kbps, < 30 sec, ~200kb. can use them as alarm/alert/ringtone just fine.

Re: Cant upload ringtones to my KRZR anymore...

OK, after reading a few threads, this is what I have found to get ringtones onto your Krzr phone:

1- So far this seems to be the best way, but then again, this is the only thing I have tried. I tried it last night, and it worked for me. Whatever glitch or whatnot that happened a few weeks ago must have been fixed.
Quote:
1. Email an attachment of the 20 second mp3 clip to your (10 digit phone number)@vzwpix.com
2. This will come up on your phone as a pix message.
3. Open the message and your mp3 will start to play
4. Select options and save your mp3 to save sound
5. Your ringtone should now show up in myringtones and be available
6. You can delete the pix message
7. You can only email one ringtone at a time, but at .25 each that's alot cheaper than Verizon's 2.99 for crap tones
2- Now this second option seems to be good, but I do have a question about it. But first I'll give the links.

Now I have two questions about this method. My first I believe is answered here. The question is, will this method mess up the software on my phone? According to a post in that thread, the answer is no. But my other question is, this won't void any warranties, right? i read somewhere (maybe here, maybe not. i've done a lot of searching.) about some sort of hack, that if done it would void the warranty. so if you mess up the phone or some thing happens down the line... you're out of luck!

3- This also seems to be a good method, but again, I have a question about it.
Now my question is this, do you need to have the web on the phone to do this? I am not paying for the web. Is it still possible to use this method to get ringtones on the phone?

4- The last method is another link. It seems that some people have found it useful.

I think the second method might be the best way (cheapest too) as long as it's not a hack of the phone. The third way also could be the best, unless you need to use the mobile web. But definitely the first way works. You just have to pay for a pix message.

I wanted to get all the methods into one place for everyone to see to make it easier. Plus I was hoping to get my questions answered (I bold them so it would be easier to find them). Any info on my questions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
