#1 | | Junior Member | I got my Krzr K1M in January of this year and I have been able to upload mp3 ringers through "Your number@vzwpix.com" with no problems. Now when I send a tone it gets saved in "My Sounds" as a QCP file. Did Verizon change their software within the last few weeks? My friend just got the new Razr and hes having the same problem as of latley. Does anybody have any info on whats going on or is it just a few phones that were affected? Maybe Paulcman can chime in on this subject. He seem to know how Verizon opperates from what ive read many of his answers on other posts.

#3 | | I hate spammers! | All right kids, you asked for me, and here I am!
I actually have no answer for you. This is an issue I have read several posts on just tonight and will need to do a little checking. It is safe to say that unless you went to a Verizon store and had your phones flashed with a firmware upgrade, it is not a software issue.
This is not an issue that I can duplicate with either of my phones, but I will check into it further and see if I can come up with an answer.

#6 | | I hate spammers! | It is still working fine on my enV, but now my Samsung u740 won't save the ringtones. I am continuing to work on a fix, but it is not promising.

#9 | | Newbie | verizon has now blocked the ability to send mid and mp3 files thru pix messaging they automatically convert the file to a qcp hence can not be used as a ringtone. they've done it again

#11 | | Junior Member | Its really too bad theyre trying to squeeze every single cent they can from us. Hopefully someone can find a fix to help us all out. Im not trying to say verizon shouldnt make any $$$, but we pay for service, a very expensive phone and other options. They should give the tech savy people a break. I knew Paulcman would see this sooner or later.

Yes, all of my own attempts to send ringtone files directly from e-mail (using Outlook and my home e-mail address) did result in qcp files and sound terrible on my phone. However, when I use ToneThis to send my ringtone files, they are saved on my phone as midi files and work as well as any mp3 I have ever used.
Other than using a different method to send your ringtones, I have not come up with a better solution yet.
