New phone now or wait?

I currently own a Samsung SCH-A670, have been for moving on to 3 years now. Decided that maybe it was time to look into upgrading to a new phone.

I'm very interested in a QWERTY keyboard in the phone, which brought about the Samsung u740, and LG enV. EnV looks really nice, but it's expensive and looks rather bulky. I put my cell phone in my front pockets so that thing would look huge in there.

The u740 interests me a lot, not AS expensive (by the way, a verizon rep said he would give it to me for $50 if I bought it that day, any way that can be done or was there a trick involved?) and a lot smaller than the enV. But from what people seem to say, it's clunky and needs adjustments.

I've also been looking at the LG VX8600 recently because it's a lot cheaper, and would certainly be an upgrade to my phone now (what wouldnt be?).

So my main question is, do I get the u740 or 8600 now, or wait until the whole u740 type concept is further perfected? It's certainly not imperative to upgrade, but it would be nice.
