Newbie with a question

I have a LG Verizon and was wanting to know how to set a greeting like " Hi this is MARY please leave a message and I will get back to you" Somebody said press star 86 but that does not do anything . This is my first cell phone so please bear with me. thanks

Voicemail Set-up and Retrieval

Also check the manual or brochures that come with your phone. It should have the info in it.

most verizon phones have a shortcut key to the voicemail by holding down the 1 key.
