Verizon Return Policy

ok, hear me out guys. bought a MOTO Q.. complete piece of crap.. but it was my first pda.
was 300 bucks.. 200 bucks mail in rebate though.

mailed in the rebate.

called verizon. they have no records of the rebate and says i will not get it.
so to top off having the worst electronic ive ever owned im not paying way more then what i wanted to or would EVER pay for this load.

so i have this TEC-ASURION insurance that i pay 5 bucks a month for.
i want this phone GONE! i want to even take a loss on it and just get a normal new phone..
seeing how i have that insurance does anyone konw the details of the insurance? like what i have to do to this thing to get it to be returned. do i need to skip it across the road till it comes into 3 pieces ? or just chuck it into the wall??

im even willing to go back to my old phone that still works well and i liked just to get my money that i spent on this thing back..
its still under 1 year warrenty from verizon also..

what you guys suggest?? this thing has to go .. between EXTENDED battery lasting 3 hrs and constant crashing and ****ty camera and this rebate... i put me over the limit.

what you guys suggest? i want to just have a normal phone. you think they will take a broken phone and let me return it damaged and say that it feel and screw it i want to use my old phone and want my money back on this junk..

anyone have a link to the terms to TEC:???

thanks guys..
pissed off verizon customer

Re: Verizon Return Policy

My son used to have the insurance. They will not pay you $$ back, they will replace the phone w/a refurbished one. His phone was broken. They mail you a replacement (for a $50 fee) and then you have to mail back the broken one. OR if your phone is stolen, you have to file a police report and send that to them. They then send you the replacement for $50.
that being said, where did you buy the phone? At a verizon store? they have all that info in the computer. I would think they could reprint the info for you to prove you bought it within the time frame. or did you keep copies of the form you mailed in? They advise you to do that. A similar thing happened to me. They had no record of my rebate. They told me to mail in the copies. I did and received my check. Mail DOES get lost so I can't believe they could just say "sorry, no deal." I would mail them copies (if you have). If not, contact the store you bought it from and see what they can do to help. I've always found verizon pretty helpful. Or try calling cust service again and get someone different.

Re: Verizon Return Policy

yea. i got copy of the original receipt.. but i dont have the copy of the UPC code. i had no idea i was going to need that. figured they would be able to simply look at my account and see that i bought that phone.
yea i bought it from a local store.

i get that mail gets lost. i understand that. it happens. the rebate office and the local office told me it happens alot.
just to mail the copies. and i HAD to have a copy of the upc code off the box.

50 bucks and they send me the same phone.. damn! that sucks. im getting all around banged here.
i think id be better off selling it for 150 bucks and hooking up my old phone..

think they would work with me if i go in there saying im going to close out my data transfer and sell the phone and possibly change providers due to this?

whats with the 1 year manufactures warranty?? couldn't i get a new one thought them?

Re: Verizon Return Policy

You should be able to get a new one for free with the manufacturer's warantee. I did with my chocolate. Just ask them, or ask for the manager and ask him

Re: Verizon Return Policy

Actually I didn't even think about asking you how long you had it!
Yeah I would take it in under the 1 year warranty. You may want to call 1st and explain problem over the phone. Sometimes they will put a note on your account to let you switch it. That way when you go there, there is NO problem!

Re: Verizon Return Policy

My guess is that you did not buy it at a Verizon corporate location, as the rebate is only $50.00 from Verizon. That is probably why Verizon has no record of your rebate. If you bought it from a reseller, you need to take it up with that store.

You will get a refurbished phone. That is policy for warranty returns. If you sent it to Motorola, they would do the same.

Re: Verizon Return Policy

so went to the store today. got my damn rebate....

went in there with the attitude i was not leaving without something coming to me..
as sooon as i went in they said we can get you the 50 bucks and thats it..

said no.. i want rebate in full.

"you took a photocopy of my drivers licence, you scanned the bar code on the box, i have the phone, i have valid id... i OBVIOUSLY bought this phone here by your records. you OBVIOUSLY see that i did not receive the rebate, you OBVIOUSLY know i am owed this. "

verizon manager comes on the floor..
20 min later.

full rebate, and a apology for the trouble.

but just as comical relife.. i had a smile on my face. got in my blazer. drove down the road bout a mile.. rear ended someone . got a $75 ticket and a rise in my insurance. god i love my stupid Irish luck hahahaha

point of the story. they can get you the rebate in the store if you ***** hard enough. just wear your seatbelt on the way home lol

Re: Verizon Return Policy

Wow...well congrats on getting the rebate. Sometimes you just have to be a hard***. And that stinks about the ticket. That sounds like something that would happen to me! Irish luck is right.
What are you going to do w/the phone now?
