Really Need Help...please look

I'm a teenager in California...and I have a Verizon LG Chocolate phone.

My Dad pays a family plan of $100 a month with unlimited messaging.

I've been using Mobile IM a LOT with MSN recently...and I don't know how many messages obviously I've sent and received. I've done it for 3 weeks now and I don't know how much Dad is going to pay.

I only just found out today that Unlimited messaging doesn't count.

How will Dad be billed?

He doesn't know I've been using it. My Mum knew and I told her don't worry I won't be charged extra - because the Manual said you will be charged at your Price Plan.

Hmm, sorry if you think this is stupid, but I'm confused as to how Verizon bills everything.

If you have internet access all the msn messages are free, otherwise i think its 10 cents per message in and out

Internet access with Verizon you mean? Or on the phone?

Because I have internet access with Verizon. As in, my internet service providers are Verizon.

I don't think my Dad does have a data plan. And we don't have internet access either...

I didn't get charged extra. For my number - the text messages in total was 6072, that's not text messaging obviously, that's IM.

Extra Charges: $00

...I didn't get charged for it.

Anyway...I just noticed on the bill, there's $15 monthly charge for unlimited monthly kilobyte...what's that all about? And it's been put on my number, too...

OH, I JUST GET IT, IT'S INTERNET ACCESS....that's why I haven't been charged for each message sent!

Ok folks, let's get this straight... she is using MSN Messenger through Mobile IM, and she has unlimited messaging. That IS why there is no charge for the text messages used in MSN Messenger. I am assuming that when she says "unlimited messaging", she is referring to the new Select plans and not the older "Unlimited IN" messaging bundles. The new Select plan DOES include all Mobile IM messaging.

The "Internet" or V-Cast package you are talking about has absolutely nothing to do with the messaging she has been doing through Mobile IM and MSN Messenger. They are 2 totally separate features. You do not need to have V-Cast or Mobile Web to use Mobile IM, just a really good text package like the new Select plan.

I hope that clears it up! (Incidentally, LD7, if you are not on a Select plan, then everything I just wrote goes out the window and you should, in fact, have been charged for all the messaging you did through Mobile IM.)

But, that has nothing at all to do with messaging. The $15.00 V-Cast VPak only gives you video and Mobile Web.
