help putting cutom ringtone on VX8300 via cable/card....

hey guys new to the forum and already got a question....

i just picked up my new 8300 tonight and am having trouble with something. i bought the music essentials kit, and also a 1 gb micro sd card with the sandisk adapter in it. so i can sync my phone via the data cable to put music on the phone. or i can put the micro sd card in my card reader and click and drag files onto the card.


what i am trying to do is make an mp3 or wma whatever to where i can set it as my ringtone. i have read on how to send it via VZpix email messaging or whatever, but i dont want to spend 3 dollars for each ringtone let alone 25cents per either. it should be simple to do what i am trying, but its apparently not. let me know if you can help.....

alright i figured it out after some headaches....... this is the easiest simplest way you will find to do this with a usb data cable..... , so hopefully someone in my shoes will read this......


1. download a program called "audacity" (this records any audio played on your pc if you want to make a CUSTOM ringtone)

2. download a program called "bitpim" (this will detect your phone, settings, ringtones, ect...)

both of these programs are easy to use, so play with them, a monkey could figure them out....

use audacity to trim down the mp3 or you can use bitpim to do it for you.... this is fairly easy, and the programs are self explanatory, let me know if you need help....
