help with audacity ringtones!!

i cant for the life of me figure out audacity. i have used it before for ringtones but my mind is going blank. thanks for all your help!!

That's very vague. What phone make/model? I assume you'r eusing verizon?

samsung a930 and yes verizon.

i figured out how to do it. i cropped the mp3 down to 15-20 seconds which is roughly 300k. do i need to rename the file to .mid before i send it to my phone? thanks for your help!!

No you shouldn't have to rename the file extention to .mid as your phone uses mp3's as ringtones.

Only problem is going to be getting them to your phone without a usb data cable and bitpim, because i don't know if your phone will allow you to email them to it.

You should try out dopetone.com. Don't have to muck with audacity at all. Just upload the file, trim it down online, save it to whatever format you want or send directly to your phone via sms/wap.

Well, I tried out the dopetone.com website and it worked quite well for me. I just uploaded my .mp3, edited it and then sent it to my phone. It sounds great! Thanks for the suggestion!
