protection plan

hello I was just wondering what the big 5.99 a month plan covers. I know it says that it covers acidential damage but dose that only cover damage that brakes something? I dropped my phone today and its got huge scraches all down bolth sides and even the littlest scraches drive me crazy. So I was wondering if I can get a new phone>

For $5.99 a month, Total Equipment Coverage from Verizon (through Asurion) covers water damage, breakage, loss and theft. It also extends the manufacturer's warranty so you won't pay the deductible if the problem is not caused by abuse/misuse.

All in all, it is well worth it for phones with a full retail replacement cost of $200.00 or more.

Also, since I know it will come up, the loss and theft coverage no longer requires a Police report be filed.

Can you enable insurance through the verizon interface, Paul?

By policy, you can only add the insurance within 15 days of initial activation. This policy is designed to reduce fraud. That being said... well, I really can't say anymore than that.

It's helped me once in 3 1/2 years. I would've been better off putting 5.99 a mont in a savings account. LOL!!!
