help with syncing music

I have the Motorola razr v3m, and I have tried to sync music several different ways. I have a 1 gb sd card in it, and it will only get to 50-60 %, stops syncing, and freezes up my phone. I have tried to sync directly to my sd card, and then put the sd card in the phone, and the music doesn't show up, even though the card is almost full. My husband has had the same problem with his LG VX8600 and a 2gb sd card. Any suggestions??

I'm using windows media player 11 and hubby is using verizon music manager thing

hum , where the cards formatted in the phone?

I'm thinking there is a file on the card(s) that the phone can't read correctly. Maybe it has an extra long name or has a special character in it?

Try wiping the card and loading a different set of files?

We have formatted the cards, and it always ends on different songs. Wiped out the cards and started over, and the same thing happens.

What software do you use for that?

cards were both formatted on the phones. I am using windows media player11, and husband is using Vcast music manager.
