Speaker Volume on V9M

I recently purchased a V9M with Verizon Service. As with a prior Razr I had purchased (and returned for the same problem), the speaker volume just simply is not loud enough. It's ok in a house, but while driving with the phone stuck in a visor (poor man's hands free) forget it. Are there any software upgrades or other tricks I could try to raise this volume to a usable level?

There's nothing you can do besdies getting an aftermarket hands free kit with an external speaker.
