#2 | | Sr. Member | Its awesome as long as you are in a good coverage area. VZ Navigator only works on Verizon Wireless's network, meaning it will not work in extended network areas. I just love when it tells me, "please make the next legal u-turn" haha.

#3 | | Phone Addict | i tried it for 24 hours (2.99) and it worked pretty good, and like any cell phone, network applications are only as good as the coverage the carrier provides. My area for verizon is great, that's really what stops me from getting a iphone, at&t is questionable and some cingular customers coverage in my area have complained about reception since the take over.
The speaker on the km1 is loud and clear enough, and the screen is good enough for mapping. I didn't want a GPS unit because i know the improvements in the next year or so are going to excel and so will cell phones. i think cell phones are the future, they will be the do all, so for 9.99 a month for the next year are so until i see what will be introduce i will stand pat with the krzr VZ navigator.
Technology in cell phones in the next 2 years will be interesting to say the least, Portable, efficiency, options, and compact will win. If you look back at all new electronics/communications... size has always been reduce, big screen TV's (thinner), cell phones, 8 track cassettes, so, i think GPS in cell phones will be the future and the i-phone type size is a do all when you talk about screen size for maps, emails, web surfing, speaker sound, and options. In the end it's boils down to the carrier, without good coverage to provide service, the best technology will be worthless.
So far the VZ navigator for me is thumbs up.

#6 | | Phone Addict | It really is a great feature, and like everyone has said, depends on coverage. What you also need to do is change a setting on your phone's GPS, you need to change it from 911 to Location, which will allow the Navigator to function properly. And depending on how much you use it, you can either get it for $2.99 for a 24 hour period, or $9.99 per month. Combine that with traffic update alerts, and your commute, or trip, could go off without a hitch.
Definitely nice to have if you aren't sure about an actual GPS device.

#7 | | Phone Addict | I did get on my razor and my daughter's krzr, it work's fine. I'm still playing with it but so far for 9.99 a month you can't go wrong, and with GPS on my cell i have it with me no matter where i go. GPS units they sell today are just taking off so i figure by next X-MAS... god only knows what technology will be out with by then, and the unit someone purchase's today for 3-500$ will be old news.

#10 | | Phone Addict | So far it’s been great, having it on my daughter's and i cell phone works out well. I see people with some units that are large or mounted on dashboards in autos, which creates another peace of equipment to carry around or a GPS unit that you can’t take with you.
Consolidating as much available technology as you can into one small unit is the future. Grant you the screen is not as large as some cell phone units and maybe some GPS units have a few more bells and whistles, but the voice command and visual display is enough to get you there. So far the cell phone GPS is the way to go… and GPS units might end up being like the 8-track cassette.
