If buy upgrade/new phone, can I leave it in box till xmas?

So I manage my family's phones, which are on Verizon (mine isn't but the rest of theirs is). All are eligible for upgrades, so I was going to get some new phones for them as extra little stocking stuffers (and I'm not getting free ones so I'm not cheap and it's just a bonus gift haha).

Anyway - If I order them now, and they arrive in a few days, is that ok? Will their old phones continue working until they opened the new ones on christmas?

Yes there old ones will work until they open the new phones and activate them on xmas. Keep in mind, the phones MUST be activated within 30days of the purchase date, otherwise you will be billed for the full retail price.

Ellen - Let me clarify.

My name is on the account. I have a family account, for my immediate family members (3 total people), so I just log right onto the website of Verizon and order.

Personally, I'm with AT&T cause I have an iPhone, but I have Verizon account for them. Sorry it wasn't clear.

you can deff get a phone and not activate it till christmas the old one wont turn off till the new one is powered on what phone are you planning on getting???
