I have a question that I'm sure someone here has run into.
I signed up for Verizon in October after being a long time Sprint/Nextel user. I purchased a VX-9900 and activated TEC Insurance on my line.
Last month, I purchased a VX-6700 that's in mint condition from e-bay. I love this phone and needed it for push e-mail for my job.
When the Verizon rep swapped out my phones, he mentioned there may be an issue with my insurance. He said if my phone is lost or damaged, they would send me a replacement VX-9900, not a VX-6700 (or comparable phone).
I went through someone similar with Sprint, I swapped my phone out for a Treo 300, which died about 9 months later. Sprint sent me a new Treo 600 without batting an eye.
I swear I am not trying to get a new phone, I would just like to have the peace of mind that if my VX-6700 dies or is stolen 3 months from now that I will get a comparable phone. Shouldn't they go by what phone shows up on "My Phone" on the Verizon website as long as it's been active (made and received calls) and has been more than 30 days? I mean, Verizon activated the phone on site (not at the store), so it's not like I bought a broken phone and activated it just to get an upgrade.
I would appreciate anyone with any insight into this letting me know what would happen or what I would need to do to get this straight (if it can be).
Thanks,
Doug
