Last year I was given an enV as part of a contest promotion. Along with the phone came what was supposed to be a few months of free service. The service was to end in September or October. It has not been terminated.
I have attempted to contact the people working for the company that awarded me this phone, but they have been useless in attempting to deactivate it as planned.
I can call and text at will, but I cannot access my voicemail as I have no password for doing so. The Verizon store said they could not do anything since I had no bill or account information. Well, of course I don't, the phone is linked to some massive corporate account.
Basically I have an enV with crippled service that I am freeloading off of for an indefinite amount of time. I cannot utilize all the features I want, not to mention it is ethically iffy to freeload off this phone for eternity. But also, I do not want the phone to go to waste, that would be a shame. I would like for the current number/service plan to be deactivated from the phone, so that I may either sell the phone or activate it with my own plan and number.
Any help with this would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I am so frustrated with this I'm even offering a small reward of gratitude for anyone who manages to help me figure this out.
Thanks so much. |
Maybe the free service was to end in a couple of months, not the contract between the company that awarded it to you and Verizon. Verizon C.S. is hard to deal with at some times but i dont believe you will be able to terminate this contract as:
1. you are not the account holder 2. you have no access to account holder information
YOur best option is to keep trying to get the info from the company that gave it to you. if that doesnt work then go back to verizon and explain the circumstances, they might be indifferent but may offer some advice as to what to do if you are not getting the service you are supposed to.
