From Sprint to Verizon

Im considering going to verizon from sprint for several reasons..
verizon has some phones that i like and then the other is because my texting lags on my sprint! I also might want verizon because i was told that the coverage is amazing. Is the coverage great in I.E., and O.C.? Thanks
