How can I exchange my Glyde without being without a phone for a few days?


I'm tired of the Glyde, it hasn't been 30 days, so I decided I want to exchange it for a BB Curve. Well, every store in the area is sold out of them and prolly won't get anymore in until after my 30 days is up.

The Verizon store will order me one, but I have to leave them my Glyde until it comes in. They told me to try calling the 800 #, and they would ship me a Curve and then I could ship back my Glyde when I received it. Wellp, no, they won't do that.

I can't go without a phone for a couple of days, but on the other hand I don't want my 30 days to expire and me be stuck with a phone I don't really care for.

A Verizon employee at one store told me that some people have said they could order a new phone off the website, they'd get charged for it, and when they received it they would send back their old phone and get credit for it. Well, I can't figure out how to do that. If I order a new phone, it's gonna charge me full price instead of my New Every 2 discount. I'm not gonna pay full price for the BB just to trade in my Glyde.

Anyone know ANY way I can do this without losing a phone for a couple days???? Kinda pisses me off that they can't cross ship it, especially at a Verizon STORE. I mean damn if I don't turn in my Glyde, then they don't give me the Curve, simple as that! Or if they sent me one, and I don't send my Glyde back... BILL ME FOR IT! WTF?

There's gotta be some way.

I have Verizon, and like it, but I must say the people in the stores, on the phone, etc., don't always know very much. Sad. Go the website: verizonwireless.com. Go to PHONES, then act like you're trying to buy a new phone. A CHAT window will come up. Ask the chatty person how to do what you want to do. OR call 800# again ... each time you call, you may get a different answer. When you get the reply you WANT, write down date and time of call, get rep's name or ID number, then do what they say. Good luck. The CURVE is awesome! OTHER idea: could you just give back the Glyde, and buy a pay-as-you-go plan for any old phone unti your new Curve arrives? I dunno ... mite work. Please don't give up.
