Verizon Blackberry Service

Hello, I had a question about verizon's blackberry service.


Last december, I upgraded to a blackberry pearl and I had it activated Without the blackberry service. Meaning I wasn't using the blackberry service and not paying the extra $30 per month. Now, I was having problems with the phone so they replaced the entire device and they put the blackberry service onto my plan. For the past 7 months I was paying my bills without the service and I don't want it at all. They are telling me it is required for any of the blackberry verizon phones. But once again, for the past seven months I wasn't paying for any blackberry service.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't know what else to do at this point.

May have been part of your problems with the service, I am a corporate Verizon Wireless employee and can honestly tell you our system will not even activate a Blackberry without the Blackberry service on it.

I was told the same thing. No Blackberry service, phone no work.

Was the Blackberry service plan required 7 months since the OP did not have it then? What has changed?
