Need help with EnV - black screen powered down

Any help would be much appreciated. My daughter has had her new EnV phone for just under 2 months. When she turned her phone on the screen went gray, then black and powered down. It will now not turn on. She has taken the battery out and put it back in but still nothing when she turns it on. She indicates that she did not get it wet or drop it. Anyone have any advise, remedy etc. for a fix. We did not have insurance on the phone and all Verizon is willing to do is give us a refurbished phone. I'd rather fix the new one she has than end up with a used refurbished phone. Thank you in advance

If you know what the water indicators are then if they are red it has gotten wet. If not there is nothing wrong with on of verizon's refurbished phones. In fact they are mostly new, new parts and software are put into these phone so really it is a new phone. If it is doing what you say they will replace it (refurb).
