Met local Verizon Tech today :)

Well today for work I was driving around. I noticed there were some new panels going up on a cell site in a very populated area. So on my way back for my break I stopped and went up to the workers at the base of the tower. I was greeted by a tech and he was very polite and extended a warm welcome. I usually can tell what carrier is what by the panels but I did not know this one. It was Verizon really threw me for a loop cause Verizon is already in the area. He said that they want to be ahead of the growth.

He took me on a tour of the shelter where the equipment will be housed. Also was very candid about sharing future projects with me and what else is going on in the next year or so. Now this was very neat for me first off the Verizon tech was a very genuine nice human being, second I know where to be looking in the near future.

Well he did mention alltel and that things are already rolling on that as far as selecting what towers to keep and whatnot. That really all the info that would pertain to others. On a local level for me he just informed me about when they bought quest a phone company here who used to have 1900. He told me why they didnt use those towers they owned.

The reason being Verizon likes to put up a big shelter and the land owners wont let them have more land to do this on. I told him that he could if it was my land lol.

LOL I am sad to say really unless you are from here it would not matter/effect anyone else. So that is really all I have. It was just good to hear this from a direct verizon tech.
