GSM carriers offer
SIM cards that allow for a customer to just take the
SIM card out of one phone and use it in another.
And I remember hearing that Verizon was going to offer a feature that would allow a customer to change between phones just by changing a setting through the web site. Is this feature real, and if so, how do I set it up? On the web site there is an option "Activate Your Phone Online"; so is that the service?
Verizon has a bunch of phones that I like and if I can just swap the
ESN info through the web site; then that would allow me to enjoy using several different phones.
So does anyone know what I am talking about? Can I swap service between several phones? Is there any limitations, fees, ect?
I have never tried going from a regular phone to a PDA phone before, so I am not sure how this would work. However, Verizon has made it easier to switch different phones out, by allowing you to change the features that are on your account, before the ESN/MEID change goes through. So, it might give you the option to add a PDA data plan, or a pay as you go data plan, before you go from your Voyager, to a PDA phone. If you have a problem, just call up Verizon's CSD and tell them that you weren't able to use their online tool, to change the ESN on your phone. As long as the Reps. know that you tried to do it first, they will waive the $20 fee for you. I have never been changed for calling in, and having a CS rep. do it for me, if I tried it myself first....Good luck....
