PTT users please check in

How may users do we have that are using the PTT?

I am going to get a second GzOne Boulder today for my daughter and I am going to activate the PTT on them. I was just wondering how many users are actually using this service since Verizon only offers 2 phones for this service currently.

I used Nextel before switching back to verizon and the PTT was what I liked about it... their service just sucked.

Those who have this service... please list what phone you have and what you do and don't like about the phone or the service.

Re: PTT users please check in

Got the second Boulder yesterday So far it seems the sound using the PTT service isn't very loud. I do have the volume setting set to 7. Maybe this is just an issue with the Boulder, but the sound is louder when using it as a phone . The other issue I am seeing is that I keep bumping the PTT button on accident and I keep bleeping my daughter

With Nextel when you wanted to PTT someone (if already on your contact list) you had to find them in the list to bleep them... the PTT button did nothing until doing so. I like that feature better, less chance of accidentally bleeping someone. Also, with Nextel you could alert someone, I'm not seeing this option with Verizon

Re: PTT users please check in

I have been using Verizon's new PTT service on my V750 since the pre-release (about a week before the official release date.) I also used the older Verizon PTT service using a V65P several years ago.

IMHO, Verizon got it right this time. We have a group of about a dozen users, who have performed many tests of the service both in and out of Verizon's EvDO Rev A coverage area. We have setup and tested the group connection features.

The most frequent complaints we have received, so far, have been concerning the speaker loudness and battery lives of both the V750 and the Boulder phones. The sensitivity of the outside keys of the V750, as well as the inability to disable (except for one-time disabling that must be re-set upon each time the flip is opened) the PTT key is a common complaint.

We have also done a few side-by-side comparisons of the new VZW PTT service with Sprint Nextel's Direct-Connect.

Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.
