need to if you have to renew plan

i want to buy a verizon phone for my girlfriend as a present and i want to know if she have to resign to another 2 year plan if i get her a unactivated phone like from ebay and how would i go about it. any advice would be very, VERY helpful and i thank u in advance

Well, does she currently have service with verizon? The last time I renewed my plan was when I got my Razr V3m on my NE2 (new every two), and I had to agree to FURTHERING my contract, however, this is not to be confused with UPGRADING my contract to one of their newer nationwide plans.

Now buying her a phone off eBay is easy, and if she already has verizon, all she has to do is use the online ESN switcher to change to the 'new' phone, then dial *228, chose option 1 and she's done. If she doesn't have verizon, then she might be able to do it over the phone, but may have to go to one of their stores.

yes she has verizon as a carrier already and had already renew her her contrct for another 2 years already a little while back but if i get her this phone she doesnt want to have to resign for another 2 years can we buy the phone and just use the online switcher u were talking about and not resign another 2 years..... thanks

Yes, be careful buying off ebay, make sure the phone wasn't reported lost/stolen/non pay account by verizon wireless
