#1 | | Newbie | I have been a loyal Verizon Wireless for nearly 10 years. During that time I've requested a phone replacement (under warranty) one time. I've kept most of my phones until they die.
For loyal customers that have not abused the system, I believe Verizon would benefit from offering loyal, long term customers the choice a free phone of their choice (not just the freebe of the month) contracting for another two years.
Please take the time to post your vote on this poll and offer any comments you may have. This is important to me.

#3 | | Sr. Member | shoot.... they should just give you the phone and not make you do anything with it. hell theyve been keeping so much from us already that they kinda owe it to us to have a free phone to take elsewhere.

#4 | | Junior Member | My husband was suckered into another 2 yr contract because he went in to get his free phone. I don't know how he forgot that by signing on the bottom line he was once again contracted to them whereas if he would have kept his original phone we would be contractless!!! Aaahh the allurement of a brand new shiny phone.

#7 | | Junior Member | I definitely think that this would be an added incentive. Let's face it, Verizon isn't paying what their "retail" price is for these phones. They can afford to lose a little bit of money on a phone to get the monthly's back. Not to mention, with their new mandatory data plans, if you have a smart phone they are making a ton of cash.

#10 | | Newbie | The way technology is rapidly advancing, I think you should be able to get a new phone yearly.

#11 | | Newbie | I hate that when your contract is up and you want a new phone you have to re-up for another two year gig or else pay retail. This is becoming a show stopper for me.

This is becoming a show stopper for me. | The reason why you have to get a new contract is because they take a loss on the phones they give you when its discounted to two year pricing. Else Verizon would lose big bucks by selling a $200-500 at a deep discount and then someone decide to cancel service. They wouldn't recoup thier money. THink about it if it was your business. IF youa re going to gave somene 200 dollars don't you want a contract to make sure they dont screw you? Quote:

But I definitely agree with snaker - technology moves far too quickly to only be given a new phone every two years. |
I agree to this point as well, one thing you can do is buy ones with 1 year pricing. It is about 70$ more than the 2 year pricing and would give you the ability to upgrade every year.
