Blackberry Curve

I have a family plan and I wanted to get the Blackberry Curve for my line which is the main line. Do I have to sign up for a blackberry plan or can I access stuff without signing up? Thanks again.

To use the features of the blackberry properly you will need a data plan.

Verizon requires that you have the $30 or $45 Blackberry data plan on any of the BB's. There is no way around this.

I'm fairly certain that Verizon makes you buy a data plan for blackberries, not matter what your intentions with them are. I know, it sucks, cause most people could live off of their BB alone and not need to sync it with anything.
