On Verizon's website there used to be a tool to check to see if numbers were Verizon numbers. I can't seem to find that link anymore. Is it gone? Is there another way to check?

They still have this available. It's just been moved.

    Up to the minute.

It isn't something where the numbers are manually entered. It's what's currently recorded in the Verizon Wireless customer system...so if their number exists in the Verizon system, it will show up on this system...

    It's very accurate.

You can also check by typing the following in your browser's address window:

    **Link Removed**

When I check my cellphone #, the info that shows up includes VERIZON WIRELESS.

The Link that Celljimian is somewhat correct. I think she/he put their actual number in there.....lol

To look to see if a number is currently being used along with a lot of other information about that number go to:

    http://tirs.us/lookup/1234567890

Just replace the 1234567890 with the 10 digit number your looking for.

I have noticed that link to be somewhat not as accurate as it probably should be.

I tested it just a second ago. My friend ported from AT&T to Verizon Wireless about a 2-3 years ago. It still says AT&T.

I removed Celljimian's link since it did contain his wireless number when you went to it.

Re: Checking to see if a number is a Verizon #?

I think at first I tried it with my cellphone #, and it worked. Then for my post I changed it to the generic http://tirs.us/lookup/<your 10-digit cellphone #> or something like that. If I forget to remove my actual phone #, I didn't mean to ... my bad!

Try starting with "http://tirs.us/lookup/" (without the quote marks) in your address window, and then see if you can narrow it down to your actual cellphone number by selecting your state, area code, and number itself.
