Can someone explain how the Family Locator works with some of Verizon phones? Does it notify the particular cell phone that you are locating them?

yes it notifies them with a text. does it every time you locate the phone.

Only certain phones can be located and only certain phones can be locating another phone. Some phones can both locate or be located.

Most phones have the ability to do both...but some it's only a one way street.
