Text Messages

I had my Verizon cell phone for almost a year and not sure about sending and receiving text messages. I do get text messages from Verizon when I pay a bill but if I wanted to send a text message to someone with Verizon service or they send me one, do I get charged anything for them?

Always double check with √erizon about your plan, but as far as i know there's no charge when you text within the √erizon network.

You will be charged for messaging unless you buy a texting package from them. My grand daughter thought verizon to verizon messaging was free so she used my phone and ran up a 200 dollar bill on my phone.
check out straight talk, everything for one monthly fee 45.00 unlimited everything and they work off verizon towers. Great plan

I got charged 200 dollars for my grand daughter texting verizon to verizon. When I called verizon I was told I had to have a texting package. The verizon to verizon free thing is only for talking.

You wont get charged if they txt you. But if a friend or family member txts you and you dont have unlimited txtn then you will be charged!
