Sending text messages on Droid X not working

I just got an Android X. Everything works fine except cannot send texts. It receives them but cannot send them. Was told it could be a setting issue. How do I fix this?

Do you mean a Droid X? Do you get an error when you try to send? Try a *228 and reset the phone. Also, make sure it is updated to the latest software. I was having an issue with sending texts a couple versions back. If that doesn't work call Verizon.
