Am I getting ripped off, or does this sound about right? I can't help but think theres better deals out there. I also thought my Verizon plan, with the specs listed in the title above, should only be around $160 per month and not $200. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you for reading.

It should be $159.98 per month, but there are taxes and fees added. Do you have insurance? If so, that can bring the cost up.

There are other alternatives available, but if you're currently in a contract there isn't much you can do other than pay the Early Termination Fee or give them a call to adjust what is on your plan. You can take off unlimited messaging and use Google Voice instead, sending your text messages over the data network. That would save you $30 each month.

How much longer are you in the Verizon Wireless contract?

Is $200 your total bill including taxes and fees?

Based upon the earlier reply, the contract just started since the bill has the Activation Fee included.

I didn't think much about it when I saw it. Thank you.

cgl102770, if you're looking for something a little cheaper next time, Page Plus Cellular and Straight Talk are both good options.

Thank you all for the helpful replies. In using Google Voice to text, can I only text with others who have Google Voice?

If you're using the Google Voice Android application, you should be able to send a text message to anyone. You can try hitting your phone's "menu" button to see an option to start a new message.
