After purchasing the Helio in 2008, Virgin Mobile wanted more postpaid customers. Now after a year, Sprint has bought out Virgin Mobile, therefore eliminating the need for Virgin to have postpaid services. Beginning May 25th, Virgin Mobile will no longer offer postpaid services and will give these customers $50 towards a purchase of a Sprint phone on a two year contract.

According to Virgin Mobile, they have stated: “This credit is in addition to any applicable rebates that may apply. Postpaid customers moving from Virgin Mobile to Sprint will also receive $150 off of handsets as part of Sprint’s standing new customer offer. Activation fees will also be waived.”

So they are not going to have any prepaid phone services anymore? Geez, I'm glad I saw this, I was just considering purchasing a prepaid VM phone for both my kids.

Jeni must have made a typo. Virgin Mobile is cutting out the postpaid services not the prepaid.

Anyone that uses/used Virgin Mobile may want to check out Fuzion Mobile's autopay plan. It is awesome since it works on top smartphones and let's you keep your number...you don't HAVE to buy a phone on this plan either which is attractive if you want to do away with contracts while keeping your phone...
