Hey!!! I am 15 years old and I really want a cell phone!! My mom and dad both don*t want me to get a cell phone, because they think I am too young, but everyone has one and I really want one! I was going to mention Virgin Mobile to them, since it is prepaid, but I*m not sure how good the service actually is. Could you all let me know what you think about it...Thanks!!!

Verizon Wireless has a nice prepay called Fre Up. Go to E-bay get yourself a nice cell phone for $50 bucks. (Make sure it specifacly says it's a verizon phone) Then got to any VZW store with $35 buncks (Cost to start) and your in business.

in the US, Virgin Mobile is overrated and gets bad reviews. But if you really want a cheap phone, you get what you pay for.

N-telos normal wireless plans, instead of paying after a month, you pay for the month before you use it, try that.

Their phones are rather ugly and the minute price is bad. 10 cents a minute? W/ a certain calling card you can call almost halfway around the world for 8cents or was it 4? Heh... Even AT&T prepaid has better. 8.5cents

virgin mobile in the US is running on Sprint's network.. Virgin is a reseller only, then don't actually own a network. Personally I think all prepaid plans are overpriced... they are generally aimed at those with poorer credit ratings... I do know people who are completely happy with VM in the U.S. there are other plans around that can limit your spending/usage...

My little brother is trying to get one of these for his birthday. Can anyone recommend the best phone, reception-wise? I've checked out PhoneScoop and that Rave phone looks pretty decent.

Hmm lets see virgin mobile isnt bad...it can be alittle price-y, 25cents a minute for the first 10- minutes a day then 10 cents there after, is expensive...But if your lookin for a phone maybe for minimal use, maybe as a means of check in or emergency or whatever only, not a liesure phone, VM isnt bad. The phones are ok, no services like games or aim none of the goodies...text messaging is pretty cheap, 10 cents... if your the kind of person with little cash and who doesnt need a phone for major use, VM is a good choice. My phone was the Vox and i liked it cause it was small and stuff...but im switching to ATT soon because i can now. The new phone, the slider looks really nice although it has a small screen.

kids dont need a cellphone. they want a cellphone. either way, it's like a ticket to be irresponsible... "it's ok if i'm late, i'll just call my parents and lie", or gives the parents a false sense of security.
bah. be different than everyone at school. dont get a cellphone, cuz there's better things to waste your money on.
