I have a Moto RAZR2 which does 3G nicely but has limited functionality
otherwise. I also have a Nokia N82 which does everything else but no 3G. The
next gen iPhone sounds interesting and I might get one just for fun, but I
don't know much about them. I've read the battery is not user replaceable.
That's one for the minus column. What about the SIM card? Right now, I can
swap it out between my Moto and Nokia. What's the deal with the iPhone? I
have an unlimited data plan now and it would be one for the plus column if I
can just pop in my SIM and keep my current plan. The GPS is another
question. Right now Garmin XT does it all in my Nokia with no usage fees. If
the iPhone GPS works only with network charges, that would be a deal
    breaker.

The iPhone has it's own special data plan. The new 3G plan, Is anyone's
guess right now how it's going to work as it's not out yet.

Same for the GPS Plan as above. Not out yet to see if there going to inc it
with your data plan or sell you a GPS Data plan.

Calling ATT for any info will get you no info as there not giving out any
    info till it's out.

Based on the design of the previous iPhone, can a SIM from another phone be
inserted? I once had a very cheap data plan and when I bought a Treo, ATT
tried to convince me to give it up because it wasn't intended for PDA phones
which, I assume, would encourage longer surfing sessions. They had no way of
forcing me to give it up for a more expensive plan and it worked just fine
    on the Treo.

That sounds odd. What makes the iPhone different from any other GSM phone
    with regards to the SIM?

The message you responded to was a week old. Maybe the same message?

It was a follow up; asshole because the answer I got was wrong. I was told
there was no way to swap out the SIM on an iPhone. After doing some more
research, I see that can be done with a paper clip. The question was can the
same thing be done with 2.0

    That's why I'm looking for info on the hacks that will allow it;
moron....you do know the hack is out there don't you? It will let you do
precisely that. I mean, you're such an expert and all. I'm simply asking
anyone who knows if the same SIM card tray exists on the 2.0...if you don't
know, let someone who does answer the question.

Any hack will render an iPhone into a Brick comes the next upgrade,
and iPhone 2.0 upgrade coming in a month for free is the most
    significant one.

If the iP{hone doesnt do all the things you want then leave it be,
rather than TROLLing here and using childish insulting language.

it can, and the new iphone even comes with a sim ejector tool, whereas
the original iphone required a paper clip.
