no, the 8GB lost 20%, it went from $599, to $399 and everyone got $100
back, so it dropped by $100, or 20%.

Yeah- that worked well for them yesterday, didn't it?
You are obviously too stupid to understand what Larry was saying. In
another year, the iPhone will add to the growing list of irrelevnt Apple
products. He may be a little aggressive in saying a year, but certainly in
a couple of years.

what do you mean? plenty of iPhone 1.0 users now have 2.0 software, the
problem was too many tried to do it at the same time and it wasn't
resolved until around 4pm, now the problem is gone. Yes, Apple screwed
up, but it's not a long term problem.

No, Apple stuff doesn't lose value that rapidly, even iPod 1.0's are
worth over $100 and that's 7 years later... The iPhone will be no
different in this regard. It's kinda like Volvo or Acura cars, you pay a
little more up front, but you get the use of a finer product and when
you "upgrade" you get a significant amount back.

actually, everyone that wanted it did... i ended up getting $135 back
since i took the money, got an iPod Nano, sold it on ebay for $145, so
subtract out some fees and $135 minus $499, equals $364, which is about
$30ish less than what it is worth today.

Please point out where I used the word "value" or even alluded to it.

How many checks for $100 did Apple generate?

Maybe, but these dealers are selling. 11 different bids on that one you
quoted.
If it was dealers selling iPhones at over-inflated prices, there would
be examples of cheap ones selling too. Where are they?

One must also take into consideration the 3 month attention span of the
average FruitFone owner.....who expects a new gadget to be in production
before the glue has dried on the one in his hands....must to the delight of
the manufacturers of phones, video game toys, computers, etc.
Remember how fascinated we all were when Motorola released the Flipphone
you could actually put in your pocket! It was the innovative product of
the century!
Then, they found out how much more money could be made by obsoleting all
the batteries/accessories/dropin chargers/etc. EVERY time you came out with
a new model....(c;
I hope for Apple's sake, FruitFone 3 is in Beta......(c;

You don't spend much time on eBay, do you? This does happen, but not
always.
But again, if there are all these cheap eBay iPhones, point out an item
number or two?

Your answer makes no sense. You say they sent out lots of checks and then
talk about gift certificates. Oxtard clearly stated that people got money
back.
So, let's try this again. How many checks did Apple send out?
