The Van Allen belts are belts, hence the name- not the Van Allen Sphere.

We went a half dozen times. Sadly, the Moon has no commercial value, and
after we "won" the space race it lacked propaganda value as well.

    > Why have we never gone back?

For what reason? NASA has a tight budget, and since the Moon lacks any
exploitable natural resources, what would be the point? The public lost
interest in the space, causing Congress to lose interest funding it.
    > Why don't the astronauts do interviews about moon trips

They have. They've written books about it. Some, like Gene Cernan, have
been very vocal about man going back. Why, in your conspiratorial world,
hasn't he met with some kind of "accident?"

Maybe you should watch the Discovery Channel occasionally... ;-)

    Larry?

No way, Larry doesn't have an iPhone /iPod compatible device where he
can automatically download the Discovery Channel through iTunes.

I am sure he is too busy trying to find something useful to do with a
Nokia N800. Since Larry is dead in the water using a N800 without Wi-
Fi or a tethered connection to a real cell phone and the N800 doesn't
receive OTA TV like some cell phones including the iPhone with Apple's
upcoming attachment for digital mobile TV.

Therefore he doesn't see the Discovery Channel on cable or OTA either.

He doesn't need to. His Moto phone can receive the Discovery Channel live
    over MobiTV.

That's an irionic statement coming from an iPhone user. Few phones are
more reliant on an active network connection (cellular or WiFi) than the
    iPhone- especially pre-2.0!

"Upcoming"? Many phones receive live TV now.

I'm not sure anyone sees the Discovery Channel via OTA (VHF/UHF). It's a
    cable/satellite network.

The Van Allen belts aren't 1" wide at the equator. Donut shaped and huge,
the proper exit strategy is at the poles, something the Nasa Nazis cannot,
yet, accomplish with the fuel available.

MANNED spaceflight hasn't left low earth orbit since the Apollo program and
there is considerable evidence it was all STAGED for that propaganda value
    you have brought up.

I know many amateur radio operators who were monitoring Nasa's frequencies
on large array antennas during the flights. They heard NOTHING from the
direction of the moon.....except their own signals bouncing off the moon
ham radio ops have been doing for many years. They don't believe we ever
went because they would have HEARD THE TRANSMISSIONS on a wide variety of
    frequencies. They heard NOTHING....

FruitFoners think video clips are TV shows....

I watch downloaded full versions of hundreds of documentaries, including
Discovery Channel, downloaded in DivX and other formats FruitFones won't
play from alt.binaries.multimedia.documentaries that are constantly
posted as soon as they are broadcast. As a matter of fact, Grabit is
working on its 98GB load of documentaries, and has been since yesterday
morning. It has 6GB to go before the RAR compiling starts in earnest
later this afternoon. There are some fantasic programmes to watch from
BBC and ITV over there this week FruitFoners won't be watching:

BBC.Churchills.Bodyguard....in 13 parts. This entire series comes from
the book of the Scotland Yard inspector who was Winston Churchill's
personal bodyguard and friend for decades. It's a fascinating look
inside Churchill's life and all the times they attempted to assassinate
    him.

    A 5-part series beginning with:
    The.Wehrmacht.1of5.The.Blitzkrieg.DVB.Xvid.mp3.www.mvgroup.org.avi
is a fascinating look inside Hitler's Army, as told by the men who were
in it! Thousands of top secret documents have recently been released by
British Intelligence detailing what Wehrmacht captured officers said in
the mansion BI put them up in, between themselves, as BI recorded every
word gathering intelligence from them. Actors give the English
translations a real feel. Very impressive to watch, great war footage
from the Wehrmacht's own film archive, with German Army historians
    guiding you.

The ones I haven't seen yet are:
Galapagos, a huge video in 161 RAR parts on the island.
The Universe Disc, another huge 154 RAR part video..??
DOGFIGHTS - a many part series for war aviation buffs.
Two new 9/11 videos "Octopus" and "Taboo" I haven't seen, yet.
    The Qur'an from PDTV 14 July 2008
CBC's Wild Documentaries - Twister Chasters, should be very exciting.
Foxed Out, a documentary about how all the footage on Fox News ISN'T
the footage you saw on 9/11 with all the embarrassing eyewitness
truth that hadn't been properly filtered by the propaganda dept.
Arthur Miller's excellent series on Atheism, with interviews of
    Richard Dawkins.
    P38-Lockheed-Lightning-Strikes-HC-Heavy-Metal
A documentary on the P38, of course.
    Why_Do_People_Laugh_At_Creationists_1-19.avi.001
A look at the silly "Creation Science" nonsense the shadowy overlords
are teaching your children as truth. Orwell had the date (1984) wrong.
Newspeak is alive and well in the Christian Theocracy of the USA.
Astronomy and the Bible. The Bible is the most read astrological myth
    of our time.
The Triumph of Design, and the Demise of Darwin.part01.rar
A theological propaganda film debunking Darwin, dispite, of course, a
mountain of evidence to the contrary. Dinosaurs were put here to tempt
your faith in the lies they've been telling you all your lives.

None of these will be showing on FruitFone's Discovery Channel, but CAN
be converted, given enough time, so you could upload it...albeit like a
snail...so the FruitFone can play the converted videos. I barely have
time to copy it to the SDHC memory cards, let alone send it to a
FruitFone all hobbled up like they are.....

I think tonight we'll be watching the DOGFIGHT series....great stuff by
    really brave men.....(c;

    Your turn.....

Why then, if this was "staged," didn't the Russians blow the whistle? They
monitored every radio transmission coming out of he US for years, and had
all the same radar and satellite tracking we had. You don't think they
tracked and followed the Apollo moonshots as closely as we did?

    >

Well, while I agree with you on the general premise of that kind of demand
not being sustainable, I'm not sure I agree with your rationale.

While Apple/AT&T appeared to drop the price of the iPhone, it didn't drop
the COST of it. They actually raised it. By increasing the monthly charges
from $60 to $70 they actually substantially increased the cost of owning
one, and the revenue they take in for it. The "price drop" is nothing more
than a very effective marketing ploy. I'm sure you've noted that it costs
$200 LESS to buy one, but $240 MORE to have one over the two-year contract.

On another note, I brought a Touch into my office (a retail
health-care-related environment) to let my staff test it out to see if
they'd like one as an adjunct to our 5-desktop network system.

At first, they loved the idea. They found it easy enough to bring up the
necessary sites and to gather the data. But then a reality stepped in. They
realized they could not PRINT OUT THE INFORMATION, a requirement of our
needs. Besides nixing the device, they also decided that ABILITY TO PRINT
would be the next function Apple would add to its next generation device IN
ORDER TO SELL MORE UNITS and that they WOULD NOT BUY ONE NOW.

When it came down to it they, like many others, were enamored of the fun
features of the Touch, played with the pinch, slide, and rotating feature of
the graphical interface for an hour, laughing and giggling the whole
time....and then eventually came to the conclusion that it was a fun but
not-yet-useful device for work. Though I offered to buy each of them one if
they agreed to use it, they rejected the offer.

Of course, this is the 'findings' of a small staff of (fairly intelligent
and capable) people in a work environment (as opposed to a play one), but I
thought their conclusions were very astute, pertinent, and relevant.

I don't know what to believe any more or who is pulling whos strings.

Go over to alt.binaries.multimedia.documentaries and download "September
Clues" and watch it. That will set you thinking everything we see in our
world may be a lie...to keep us in line...like Orwell predicted.
