"As much as the chip may be the chief problem, glitches may also stem
from Apple's software or the AT&T network. Part of the role of the
Infineon chip is to check whether there's enough 3G bandwidth available
in a given area. If 3G isn't available or there isn't enough bandwidth,
the iPhone will be shifted to a slower network."

And why should anyone trust speculation from Business Week?

They have sources that Usenet posters don't have, and have a vested
interest in not publishing incorrect articles.

LOL. The media publishes many incorrect articles but this article just
repeats theories that were started elsewhere. I read those theories on
the web before the Business Week article. The article is just a rehash
of rumors that appeared first elsewhere.

This is not necessarily true Larry. The press has much latitude for error in
reporting. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe the key to successfully suing a
news medium is proving that they knowingly or willfully mis-reported. As
long as they have a reasonable belief that what they're reporting is
true/accurate it would be hard to prevail over them in court, whether it
turns out the reporting was true/accurate or not.

Of course, the adage goes, you may sue anyone. Winning is another story.

By the way, here's an interesting reference on defamation and suing the
press, the most closely relevant thing I could find- not exactly on the mark
for this particular thread, but not that far off either. Take from it what
    you will.

    Hello from Ihop...(c

You're right. But it doesn't keep them from making an issue of it.

The American public needs to sue news companies over their lies about
    9/11.

The problem is that it's failing back to EDGE when there actually is
    sufficient 3G coverage.

    TDMA.

I believe the popularity and trust in the blogosphere is the results of the
lies and deceit connected with the "mainstream media", controlled by the
Zionists 100%, especially since the lies and deceit of 9/11/2001.

Really impressive investigative reporting died on 9/11, probably forever.
The "press" has become the "Ministry of Propaganda", controlled by a
handful of Zionists cooperating with the Israelis running the US Gummit.
