I haven't followed Voyager's system webpage in a few years, but last time
I did logon to it, then, both Voyagers were STILL using the SAME
traveling wave tube final power amplifier in the microwave link to Earth
and STILL using the same data cassette tape cartridge they left Earth
running in 1967!

So much for digital being better than analog. Both the TWT and cassette
tape are analog devices...(c;] Whoever made both should get an extra
NASA bonus for every year it continues to run near absolute zero. Pity
Voyagers don't have a better nuclear power plant aboard, but the greenies
were stomping their feet at the launch as it was.....
