    I have been following the new smartphones as they are released, and I
    am about to buy a unit. The main purpose, other than as a phone, ,is
    to keep databases (contacts) and access to various information sources
    for (generally) medical information.

    I am an ATT user and have narrowed my choice down to the Motorola
    Atrix and the iPhone 4. Can you comment on the relative merits of
    these two units?

    Best,

    it really depends on the apps. the iphone has a wider selection, so
    it's more likely something will better match your needs but only you
    can decide that. either one will manage contacts. there are also a
    *lot* of medical apps on the iphone.

    You can find his e-mail address at <http://navas.us/>.

    He no longer frequents these groups for obvious reasons.

    He probably has some automated newsgroup poster script set up to
    regularly spam his off-topic Cingular FAQ.

    Set up a spam "from" filter in your news reader (on the amusingly named:
    "[email protected]"), like most people here, and you won't even
    see that.

    He wisely chose to take his schtick to some other venue.
