When someone sends my phone (Motorola V400) an email
([email protected]), the "from" shows up as "362-45" regardless
of whom it comes from. If I reply to that, the reply goes in to a black
hole somewhere. No error, but the original sender never gets my reply.

By exploring the phone menus, I've discovered that the "Message Setup" menu
shows the "Email Gateway" to be "362-45".

Anyone know why every email I get shows to be from "362-45" (regardless of
the sender)? Presumably that's why they never get any of my replies to
    that?

That's all I've ever gotten. The return address has never worked
correctly. However, there's a workaround that should work for you IF
your phone gives you the option to include original text.

The message reaches the phone as:
    [email protected](subjecttext)bodytext

Do a reply and include original text. Then edit the text to insert one
BLANK between the address and the message (and change the body as needed
    of course). IE:
    [email protected] (subjecttext)new body text

Then SEND to number "121" (apparently "111" in some areas). That's a
special SMS number that looks for the email address as the first
parameter in the message. The message will return to the correct sender
    with subject and body.

Drat. I can't find any option to include the original text so no help
    there, but thanks anyway.
