Which is, of course, meaningless, given the merger in progress.

Perhaps but the reported results as expect were abysmal:
    40% Annual churn!

Not only meaningless, but also not terribly surprising.
I think Cingular is prepared to lose those eager to jump.
Its future is GSM 850 + EDGE, not TDMA/AMPS, not GSM 1900,
and, for that matter, probably not 3G (for the foreseeable
future)i.e., this is just to comply with the DoCoMo deal.

But the results STILL are abysmal.

At least Navas doesn't submit the fiction that churn is quarterly.

    As I wrote, meaningless.

It's *objectively* meaningless, since ATTWS is disappearing into Cingular.

Thats not at all a certainty yet. Office Depot was sure it was
    disappearing into Staples.

Sprint 5 years ago thought it was disappearing into Worldcom.

True, but if not, ATTWS will just disappear into someone else, so it's
    *objectively* meaningless.

Maybe, maybe not. Cingular's spinning UMTS, internally and externally. RFPs
to suppliers, 40 site trial in Atlanta, blips in the trade press etc. Their
CEO might say something like..."You ever see two dogs in the park? Sniffin'?
We're gonna do a little sniffin'."

The question is...Will that dog hunt? ;-)

Do you really think it *won't* happen?

Or do you just like being contrary?

Not even close to a meaningful comparison. Cingular won ATTWS in a highly
competitive auction. If that falls through, the other players will almost
certainly step up to the plate. There is no danger of Chapter 7 in any event.
