I have a family plan, 1 main and 3 families. Here is what I found on
first family (member #2).
Billing cycle is supposed to be from 10th of last month - 9th of this
month. However I found calls made between 6th-9th of last month in
both current bill and last bill with different rates. For example
I'm trying to compare current bill, say for 07/10-08/09 with last
bill, 06/10-07/09
07/10-08/09 bill:
1. A's called 07/08 @ 8:56 AM for 19 mins @RM40 (meaning Rollover)
2. B's called 07/08 @ 2:01 PM for 8 mins @RM40
3. C's called 07/11 @ 3:51 PM for 2 mins @RM40
06/10-07/09 bill:
1. A's called 07/08 @ 8:57 AM for 19 mins @FH4 (meaning family some
thing)
(call #2 does not show here)
Has any one seen some thing like this? is there an explanation for
this?
Thanks for your time.

Any out of market or off network calls may not get billed before the end of
the billing cycle, primarily due to the time it takes other carriers/markets
to get the info to Cingular. See if those calls weren't of this type. From
the Cingular brochure..."Calls placed on networks served by other carriers
may take longer to be processed, and billing for these calls may be delayed.
Those minutes will be applied to your anytime monthly minutes in the month
in which the calls appear on your bill."
That do it?

Mark, I think you missed his point. The 19 minute call occurring right
at the end of the billing period was apparently billed TWICE, once in
the first month coming out of family minutes and again the next month
coming out of rollover. He lost 19 minutes of airtime.
There's always going to be things that will slip thru software cracks. I
haven't seen this exact problem on my bill but I have had some oddities
over the years--I think I even had to call CS on a couple. If I were
the OP I wouldn't worry about this one UNLESS it caused either month to
go over his minutes--in which case it cost him real money and CS would
need to credit him.

Thanks for reading my post. Usually, I wouldn't worry about those
little tiny thing. But lately since Cingular introduced new GSM
network, I've gotten a lot of problems. As you can see, I got rollover
minutes, yet the bill was $350
I'm still using the older phone (whatever it's called) because I don't
think new plans are good. I haven't received a bill under $150 for 5-6
months now.

Re: Does Cingular cheat ?
I doubt they knowingly cheat but I suspect they don't have a good billing
system. I changed to a GSM family plan 3 mos ago and have found errors on
each bill (in their favor) which they have fixed w/o any hassle.

What they actually have is an incredibly complex billing system, and it's not
surprising to find errors even in a good one.

I've never noticed this on my bill.
